During the summer of 2012, Matthew and his wife, Sylvia, travelled to Vancouver Island to celebrate 25 years of marriage. The panoramics shown here are from a magical couple of days near the water in Tofino.
The first night was spent in a borrowed tent in the Bella Pacifica Campground on Mackenzie Beach. From their small campsite beside the beach they spent a fascinating evening watching and photographing the interaction of various groups of people with land and water.
Later, on a very peaceful rainy day, they came across a beautiful collection of stacked stones at low tide, with glistening bits of seaweed clinging where the receding water had left it hanging. Matthew happily spent over an hour capturing the 48 images that were eventually combined to make this image.
